AMENDING

SECTION 94-227

MUNICIPAL CODE

OF THE CITY OF

LAPORTE, INDIANA

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT, AND IT IS HEREBY ORDAINED, by the Common Council of the City of LaPorte, Indiana:

SECTION I, That Section 94-227, Parking in excess of 24 hours, of the Municipal Code of the City of La Porte is hereby amended to delete the following: (a) No person shall park a trailer or vehicle driven by him, or permit a trailer or vehicle owned by him, to be parked in excess of a 24-hour period on any street within the city, without being moved a distance sufficient to allow for cleaning, maintenance and snow removal as needed. (b) When any trailer or vehicle is found to have been parked for a continuous period of 24 hours without having been moved, the trailer or vehicle may be towed away and stored at the owner's expense. The Police Department or the Superintendent of the Street Department is authorized to employ towing and storage services charged to the account of the owner of the trailer or vehicle parked in violation of subsection (a) above. SECTION II. SECTION IV. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon its passage, approval by the Mayor and publication as required by law.
