FELICIA THOMAS

We went to the Rocks Lounge the other night to hear the band "Visions of Santana" and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Everything you'd expect was rolled into this amazing group — great guitar, percussion, vocals, as well as all the popular songs and more. I would have loved to hear Gato Barbieri wail out the saxophone solo on "Europa," but these guys did a fabulous job even in his absence.

As is my custom, I studied the crowd and thought a lot. The observations were mostly joyful, taking in more than the surface happenings. And in my musings, it occurred to me that dancing is, in many ways, a metaphor for life.
