NW Health NICU team honored with DAISY Award

Elizabeth St. Germain, ASN-RN, left, and Lauren Haller, ASN-RNC, of Northwest Health – Porter are two members of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit team to win the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nursing. Also honored were Autumn Reese, Lauren Haller, Jill Volk, Elizabeth St. Germain, Alexis Goebel, MaCahlia Reyes, Julie White, Pam Jefferson, Cindy Fultz, and Becky Skalka. They were nominated by a mother whose baby daughter was a recent patient. She said she was first scared of the phrase “NICU,” but was pleasantly surprised, and said the team contributed to the overall wellbeing and successful care of her daughter. The DAISY Award celebrates the compassion nurses provide patients and families.
