MERRILLVILLE — People of good will should put love for others ahead of personal interests, in both social and political contexts, according to Pope Francis, and area Catholics are being urged to follow his wishes.

Catholics in the Diocese of Gary joined others across the world in receiving the Pope’s encyclical, “Fratelli Tutti: On Fraternity and Social Friendship,” published last Sunday.
