La PORTE — Breaking a century-old tradition, the Jehovah’s Witnesses has moved its annual convention to a virtual format for the second time in as many years, and one La Porte County family appreciates the new format.

For more than 100 years, residents of Indiana had traveled to Chicago or Indianapolis to attend conventions. In 2020, the pandemic interrupted that tradition, moving the international religious organization to cancel in-person conventions around the world and launch a global virtual event.
