Jager to perform at Pipe Organ Series

Kent Jager, organist at the historic St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Oskaloosa, Iowa, will perform the Wednesday, July 7, recital of the Roosevelt Pipe Organ Concert Series at Christ Church, 531 Washington St. in Michigan City. The featured work will be Symphony V by Charles-Marie Widor, a French organist and composer working during the time the organ was built. “Organ building styles at that time were very similar in both the United States and France, making the Roosevelt organ in Michigan City an excellent instrument to hear Mr. Widor’s music as it was intended,” Jager said. Seating is at noon, with the program at 12:15 p.m. The concerts are free and the church is air conditioned. Call Ann or George Dobie for more information at 219-608-5358.
