Trinity celebrates pastor’s 40th anniversary

The Trinity Lutheran congregation in La Porte celebrated the 40th Ordination Anniversary of Pastor Richard Ungrodt on Sunday, July 11, with a breakfast in the Fellowship Hall. Ungrodt graduated from Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne in 1981, and was ordained for ministry in the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod on July 5 at Trinity in Freistadt, Wisconsin. He has served at Christ in Lampson; St. John’s dual parishes in Rice Lake and Cameron, Wisconson; St. John’s, La Porte; and more recently, Trinity in La Porte. The pastor also served as the chaplain at Wittenberg Lutheran Village in Crown Point, and since 2008, has served as a full-time chaplain at the Westville Correctional Facility.
