MICHIGAN CITY — The inspiration behind Janine Harrison’s latest book, “Turning 50 on El Camino de Santiago,” occurred while she was hiking with a Canadian woman in Spain.

Harrison said she was traversing the El Camino de Santiago, a network of pilgrimage trails to the shrine of Apostle James the Great in Santiago de Compostela in Galicia, when her companion confessed to reading some 60 e-books about the route before starting her trek.
