Empire Wild to perform in LP Community Concert series

The La Porte Community Concert Association will present Empire Wild at Kesling Intermediate School Auditorium, 306 E. 18th St., La Porte at 7 p.m. Wednesday. The classically trained crossover trio features Ken Kubota, Holly Bean and Mitch Lyon, who met at Juilliard and formed the band, fusing pop, folk, Broadway and more into their songwriting and composition. Based in New York, the band says they present original music, inventive covers and twists on the classical canon. Highlights include “Come Fly with Me,” “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You,” selections from Bach’s Cello Suites and “Passied” by Debussy. The program is included in the La Porte Community Concert Season Ticket. The public may purchase tickets at the door for $20 for adults and $5 for students through high school. For information, call 219-362-5292.
