Candice Nelson named the future shelter for teens after her late father, Anthony Adams, who she said always provided her the love she needed when she was a young runaway.

MICHIGAN CITY — Boxing legend Sugar Ray Leonard is coming to Michigan City to help raise funds for the Anthony Adams House for homeless and runaway youth at the organization’s inaugural black-tie fundraising gala on Feb. 12.

During the gala, which will be at the Blue Chip Casino, Hotel & Spa, Leonard will take the stage for a “fireside chat” with Candice Nelson, founder and executive director of Anthony Adams House. He will also take questions from the audience.
