The Aftermath headlines Arts in the Park
Local band The Aftermath will headline Arts in the Park at 7 p.m. Thursday at Fox Park in La Porte, following a preconcert Zumba demonstration by the La Porte County Family YMCA at 6 p.m. Based in Northwest Indiana, The Aftermath performs songs from the ’70s to today’s mainstream. With musicians from Nawty, Hoosier Highway, Tak-A-Bite and High Noon, among others, the band performs songs from Boston, Journey, AC / DC, Def Leopard, and Styx, as well as country favorites. The YMCA starts the evening with a Zumba demonstration. The Lil’s F.I.S.H. Club will also share its impact on the community, while local artist Barbara Ebner is Thursday’s featured artist in the Wolf Plaza Art Pavilion. A poetry reading will be recited by La Porte County poet laureate emerita Julie Kessler. AiP’s weekly food drive will accept nonperishable food items to be donated to Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
