WV Alumni golf outing benefits scholarship program
On Saturday, May 28, the Westville Alumni Association held its 14th annual golf outing at Michigan City Municipal Golf Course. A hundred golfers took part and the winning team, with an 8-under-par 64 was, from left, Ryan Fath, Jon Nebelung, Nate Burnett and Scott Romanchek. Long drive winners were Austin Stoll and Beth Cunningham. Closest to the pin awards went to Mark Mosier and Cole Swanson. The longest putt winner was Art Caldwell. Profits from the golf outing go to the Scott C. Knoll Scholarship Fund, which awards scholarships to graduating Westville High School seniors. This year, the Alumni Association awarded $4,000 in scholarships, and in the 14 years of the golf outing, more than $90,000 has been awarded. Golf outing Chairman Mark Glassley thanked local businesses who sponsored a hole or donated items for door awards, and special recognition to platinum sponsors: Westville American Legion Post 21, Burdine Auto Body, Mama T’s Diner and Carrie & Maddie McKibben.

Fund the water project first and the Police next. That should be the priority.
