MICHIGAN CITY – After more than a century of "bringing hope, health and consolation" to the people of Michigan City, staff and administrators said goodbye to the old St. Anthony Hospital building on Wednesday night, just days before Franciscan Health Michigan City moves into its new home.

"This is a solemn occasion," hospital president and CEO Dean Mazzoni said during a prayer service to mark the next phase in "a journey that began 114 years ago when two sisters arrived to open St. Anthony Hospital."
