MICHIGAN CITY — With less than three weeks until a new urgent care facility moves into the former emergency department of the old St. Anthony Hospital, hospital administrators and members of the local business community attended a special blessing at the site Wednesday.

“This blessing and open house represent a fulfillment of promises – promises made to the City of Michigan City, promises made to this community, a promise to maintain access to health care,” said Dean Mazzoni, president and CEO of Franciscan Health Michigan City. “We’re here to celebrate the opening of Franciscan ExpressCare Urgent Care for the residents of the north end of town who need access to care.”
