The husband of Transportation Secretary Pete Buttgieg says he hasn’t heard from Mike Pence in the days since the former vice president mocked his family. But Chasten Buttigieg says he will continue to hold Pence accountable for his words. He was asked on ABC’s “The View” Thursday whether Pence contacted him after joking last weekend that Pete Buttigieg took “maternity leave” after he and his husband adopted newborn twins. Chasten Buttigieg says people have an obligation to hold people accountable for misogynistic and homophobic comments. Pence, speaking to reporters in New Hampshire Thursday night, said the transportation secretary “not only can't do his job, but he can't take a joke.”
