GARY — A wildfire has burned more than 400 acres at Indiana Dunes National Park in Gary and fire crews expected to have it under control on Monday, according to the National Park Service.

The NPS was notified of the wildfire Friday afternoon while fire crews were preparing for a scheduled prescribed fire, according to park officials. The wildfire took place in Miller Woods and was contained Saturday evening.
