MICHIGAN CITY — The building at 100 Washington St. is home to Arcadia Café. In the past, it was an Amtrak station. And in the future, it could be a six-story condominium development with “affordable” lake views.

Ernest Rosado Jr., speaking on behalf of project developer 100 North Washington LLC, presented the idea publicly for the first time during a meeting of the Michigan City Redevelopment Commission on Monday.

Finally, some thoughts on developing our lakefront. More thoughts, enlarge main beach parking lot to the east, bulldoze pseudo dunes in Fedders Alley for a beach walk with restaurants and such. Also, increase parking areas in Fedders Alley and look at developing the hill around the TOWER. Prime property that makes no money and the height of that hill would bring in a top notch restaurant and Bed and Breakfast with that view
