MCAS to have 2 school resource officers

MICHIGAN CITY — The Michigan City Common Council on Tuesday voted unanimously to provide Michigan City Area Schools with two school resource officers from the Michigan City Police Department in 2021, as opposed to the one it had been providing under a past agreement. Under the old contract, MCAS paid the city $44,000 for one officer. It will pay $100,000 for two officers under the new plan.
