INDIANAPOLIS — The surging number of COVID-19 cases in Indiana now includes the person responsible for leading the state’s response to the pandemic, but the governor has tested negative.

Gov. Eric Holcomb was tested “out of an abundance of caution” after learning State Health Commissioner Dr. Kristina Box had tested positive on Wednesday, according to Dr. Lindsay Weaver, chief medical officer for the Indiana State Department of Health
