ROLLING PRAIRIE — A large amount of marijuana and two loaded handguns were seized after a traffic stop Friday on U.S. 20 near Rolling Prairie, leading to the arrest of a 29-year-old South Bend man.

On April 2, 2021, at 2:35 p.m., a La Porte County Sheriff’s deputy was stopped on CR-500E at U.S. 20 when he saw a vehicle traveling westbound on U.S. 20 in the passing lane. As the vehicle passed by the deputy, it merged into the driving lane, according to a statement from the Sheriff’s Office.
