MICHIGAN CITY — About 2:40 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 8, Deana Wireman was heading to her job as a CNA when the world came crashing down on her.

She had just driven into the intersection of Hoyt Street and Earl Road when the driver of a stolen car being pursued by police ran a stop sign and plowed into her 2005 Monte Carlo at what Indiana State Police called a “high rate of speed.”
