MICHIGAN CITY — Animals come to the the Michiana Humane Society shelter in hopes of finding them a better home. Sometimes it’s a quick process, and sometimes it takes a while – months even.

“Everyday, animals come to the shelter for various reasons,” Jennifer Stone, development director at MHS said. “Many are surrendered by their owners because they can no longer care for them.
