Bishops urge prayers after Capitol attack

MERRILLVILLE — The Most Rev. Robert McClory, Bishop of Gary, is encouraging Catholics to support the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ call to pray for our country. Archbishop José Gomez of Los Angeles issued the call Wednesday in response to violence in the U.S. Capitol. “I join people of good will in condemning the violence at the U.S. Capitol. This is not who we are as Americans.
