La PORTE — An acclaimed chef who now calls La Porte home is embarking on opening a nonprofit culinary school.

“The hospitality business is vast, but one of the things I believe makes the world go round is food,” Chef Marcello Marino said during Monday’s La Porte Rotary meeting.
