La PORTE — The county’s decision to enlist a recruiting agency to find a new human resources director is drawing some flak from taxpayers.

“As I look over the contract from them, I find it very disturbing that you approved a contract for $17,000 for a search for a new HR director when the taxpayers have elected three county commissioners, seven county council members to do the job, to run this county,” La Porte resident Rick Kentaft said during the March 16 Board of Commissioner’s meeting.
