Remember When

The Leeds home at the corner of 7th and Pine in Michigan City was torn down to build the First United Methodist Church in 1922. Alfred Leeds (1824-83) was a successful businessman in Michigan City. His wife, Minnie Lell, became a successful businesswoman after his death. She was a director of Citizens Bank, a stockholder in many corporations, builder of the First National Bank building, and member of the Board of Trustees of the library.
