Remember when

A crowd gathered at Sacred Heart on Aug. 3, 1913, to dedicate the cornerstone. The ceremony was conducted by Most Rev. Bishop Paul Rhode, a friend of Sacred Heart’s Father Osadnik, and the first Polish bishop in the United States. A procession half a mile long escorted the Bishop from the New York Central train station to an altar arranged for the occasion on the corner of the building.
