Remember When

Carter H. Manny (1891-1970) is pictured with the first movie camera in Michigan City, circa 1926. Manny was owner of the Hoosier Slide Sand Company, and resided at 502 E. 8th St., both in Michigan City. Manny’s son, Carter H. Manny Jr., was an architect who studied under Frank Lloyd Wright and Mies van der Rohe. Manny Jr. was involved with the design of O’Hare Airport and the FBI Building in Washington, DC.
