Remember When

Sgt. John H. Parks, from Mill Creek, is pictured here one day before he died in World War II’s Battle of the Bulge at the age of 25 on Dec. 23, 1944. Parks was chosen by Stars and Stripes newspaper as “Our Man of the Year” to convey the misery of the frontline soldier. His name was not published but people soon wanted more information. His story can be found at warfarehistory.net work.com/2016/06/02/the-face-of-battle/.
