MICHIGAN CITY — After declaring an emergency, the Michigan City Parks & Recreation Department is getting additional money to address issues at two of its properties.

During the March 21 meeting of the Michigan City Common Council, members voted 5-0 to approve an additional appropriation in the Park and Recreation Operating Fund to cover repairs for both the fencing at Patriot Park and the glass panels at Sunset Grille.
