WESTVILLE — With temperatures near 10 degrees on Sunday morning, it would have been cold anyway, but for hundreds of Westville residents, it was even colder as a natural gas outage left them without heat.

“All available NIPSCO crews worked around the clock to complete significant emergency repairs, including the installation of a new gas main line, to resolve an unplanned natural gas outage that occurred on Saturday afternoon,” NIPSCO spokeswoman Wendy Lussier said Sunday.
