Jason Kobe

Jason Kobe hopes to direct Marquette to a Class A semistate title Saturday at Lafayette Jefferson.

When circumstances allow, Ray Tarnow typically walks out on the court well before the tip-off of Marquette Catholic games to look around and take in the calm before the storm.

“I like the quiet,” the Blazers coach said. “As you’re going through this, you get all caught up in the games, everything that’s going on. You don’t always really appreciate what you’re going through while you’re going through it. Obviously, you want to win, but you want to enjoy it, too. It’s a special time.”
