Michigan City state track

Michigan City’s 400-meter relay of Kaydarious Jones, Esau Haynes, Jerry Clanton and Laymon Fly Jr. will run in Friday’s state finals meet at Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis. Fly will also run the 100 and 200, while Haynes is in the 100.

MICHIGAN CITY – The Indianapolis forecast for Friday is for clear skies, but Michigan City’s sprint contingent are looking to take the boys track state finals by storm.

“It’s the last time we’re doing it as a team,” Laymon Fly Jr. said. “I’m happy to experience this last race. I can’t say I’m really too surprised. I’ve been working at it for a minute. I’ve seen it so many times, now for it to actually happen, oh, this is what it feels like. It feels good and I’m thankful for it. It’s all about making memories. Enjoy the moment. Have some fun. I’m trying to leave it all on the track. I’m looking forward to win, breaking the school record.”
