MICHIGAN CITY – On a night when Michigan City High School recognized its spring sports athletes, Athletics Director Craig Shaman used the occasion to acknowledge a 2020 graduate who didn’t get to have his senior season.

“Tyler Cuma was here and I made him stand up,” Shaman said. “Here’s a kid who lost his senior season. He never got to be cheered at a baseball game. He never got to be named all-conference. I really feel for those kids. Every team we had (this year) lost at least one game and played 75, 80, 90 percent of their games, not 100, but they had seasons. The spring kids from 2020 are the ones I feel the worst for, shortest end of the stick.”
