Gorch on the Porch: Just call me Scrooge

IMDB.com photoMany people, including sports reporter Mike Whitlow, don't like "A Christmas Story." But sports editor Steve T. Gorches loves it since the 1983 movie takes place in his hometown of Hammond, and he also relates to Ralphie from back in his childhood.

No, a movie with Ebenezer Scrooge in it will not appear on my best or worst five Christmas movie lists. But when you reach my five least favorites, it may sound like I want to say “Bah Humbug” or that my name is Grinch.

Actually, the Grinch gets a bad rap since he doesn’t really hate Christmas. He hates people — specifically the residents of Whoville — and I can relate at times.
