MICHIGAN CITY – It seemed to be the perfect storm for Marquette in its bid for the program’s first win over neighbor Michigan City.

The Wolves limped in with back-to-back losses in games that saw them muster less than 50 points. They were taking the court some 18 hours after a grueling Duneland Conference opener with Crown Point and, maybe most importantly, they were minus their best player, Jamie Hodges, Jr., who sat out the Saturday matinee after rolling his ankle late in Friday’s game.
