Gausselin signs with Coast Guard Academy

Marquette Catholic senior Jack Gausselin, pictured with Blazers baseball coach and high school principal Casey Martin and his parents Kelly and Ed Gausselin, signed his national letter of intent Monday with the United States Coast Guard Academy.

Gausselin is hitting .552 with eight doubles and 13 RBI this season. He has also been a workhorse on the mound, despite off-season surgery, striking out 34 over 22 innings in compiling a 1.59 earned run average.

An All-La Porte County selection as a junior, Gausselin batted .438 with four home runs. In his sophomore season, he hit .403 and logged a 1.99 ERA with 44 strikeouts over 24 2 / 3 innings pitched.

In school, Gausselin carries a 3.92 cumulative grade point average with 18 dual credits through seven academic semesters.

Gausselin joins Sean Bardol (United States Marine Corps) as the second Marquette baseball player since 2021 to enlist in the armed forces.

The United States Coast Guard Academy is located in New London, Connecticut. The Bears are a NCAA Division III member and compete in the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC).
